Nice to meet you.

  • Benji

Originally from coastal Maine, Benji (he/him) has been in Port Angeles since 2019 and works the fields (and compost piles) at SisterLand Farms, and on food access projects across the region with  WSU Clallam Extension. He loves being outside in any and all weather, reading contemporary novels with aesthetically-pleasing title fonts and cooking - if you're looking for a lengthy conversation about the myriad gastronomical uses of beets, with a half-dozen tried-and-true recipe recommendations, Benji's your guy.

    He likes Beet Dip.

  • Jennifer

Jennifer is a former professional bird lady turned woodworker turned store owner. She worked as a wildlife rehabilitator and educator before moving to Port Angeles and starting Northwest Beach Works with her husband Davis. Now she is combining her love of the natural world with a passion for supporting and developing small businesses (and food, did anyone mention the delicious food?!). You will most likely find her cooking a meal or riding her bike on a gravel road. Jennifer will gladly talk your ear off about birds, wood turning, bikes, or good eats.

    Jennifer likes Zucchini Fritters.

  • Jenson

Jenson (they/them) loves living in new places, but never expected to put down roots someplace that never gets properly warm. From eastern Tennessee, southern Kansas, Washington DC (etc etc, it’s been a ride) they landed in the PNW when they accidentally started a farm and consequently found the most beautiful community a tumbleweed could ever have asked for. They manage SisterLand Farms, publish fiction and poetry, teach art history, and talk to dogs.

    Jenson likes Fried Okra.

  • Davis

Davis grew up in the Arizona desert (and escaped).  He spent a few years traveling as a Park Ranger with the National Park Service, and fell in love with the PNW.  Now at home in Washington, he gets to return to what he’s good at: math, finance, and woodworking.  He and his wife Jennifer are the team behind Northwest Beach Works. As for his other job: if you've flown on a plane in the last few years, he’s had a hand in it.  He’s excited to connect with local producers, and have a one stop shop for as much choice in local food as possible.  (When not racing his bike.)

    Davis likes Lamb Lahmacun.

  • Sammi

Sammi (she/they), raised in northeastern Kansas, has a deep appreciation for tallgrass prairie ecosystems and rural communities. After tumbling through years of academia, they ended up on the Olympic Peninsula in a biogeochemistry lab, pipetting river samples. She now enjoys pulling weeds on veggie farms whenever possible, decorating birthday cakes for friends, reading radical fiction with their cat, and learning how to better support small-scale farmers.

    Sammi likes Veggie Ramen.

  • Eli

ʔə́y̕ skʷáči ʔáynəkʷ nəsčáyəʔčaʔ, Eli cə nəsnáʔ stətíɬəm nəxʷsƛ̕áy̕əm̕ cn

Eli (they/them) hails from the Jamestown S'klallam Tribe. They’ve worked with SisterLand Farms since they were 19, and even after all this time farming they still need an airtag on their water bottle, wallet, car keys, phone, and just about any farm tool they carry to the fields. (Eli’s words, not ours.) Besides running around looking for things they swear they were just holding Eli also heads the Winter harvests and slings the city’s compost with Benji. ALSO. If the grocery’s socials ever post cool photos, that was probably their work. (Eli’s words, not ours.)

    Eli likes Butter Chickpeas.

  • Brooke

Brooke (she/they/any/justalittleguy/gowithyourgut) is geologist by trade who has recently transitioned into baking and farming after moving to the peninsula.  They have never been one to stick to just one path. Whether studying rocks or shaping dough, they bring curiosity and care to everything they do. Now, as a proud co-owner of Sour Baby Bakery and a newly minted farmer, they blend science, sustainability, and a love for good food into every bite. From soil to sourdough, it’s all about the perfect balance!

    Brooke likes Bread and Butter.

  • Rita

Rita grew up visiting family in Clallam county and has proudly called Port Angeles their home since 2020. When they are not slinging veggies you can find them making quilts for their friends or in the woods gathering whatever mushroom or plant is in season.

    Rita likes Chocolate Champorado.
